Distributed Energy Optimization is looking at ways to bring
microgrids to the forefront to allow optimized assets. Utilizing dedicated devices in the field to control items such as battery powering charging and generation, the energy optimization creates an end to end ecosystem for modem
DER power control.
In the SEND project based at Keele University in England, Siemens and OMNETRIC offer end to end view on how a modern controlled grid could look like.
The target is to
- better understand how to produce, distribute and consume energy in a more flexible and efficient manner
- reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and to significantly reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions driving climate change
